When we tested the system during our Ninja Kitchen System Pulse (BL201) review, we really wanted to see how powerful this unit was. Being a festive time of year, we were able to knead dough with ease while also being able to make pizza dough, create smoothies and drinks, and even make milkshakes.
There are two features that make this possible:

The total crushing technology allows for the blades to pulverize ice, vegetables and fruits in seconds. You can even make delicious Italian ice with this model. With over 550 W of power, this unit can handle any fruit or vegetable thrown at it.
The processing bowl is 40 ounces, and it’s really not appropriate to call this a blender. This unit utilizes the pulse system, which effectively replaces your:
- Juicer
- Blender
- Stand mixer
- Food processor
You can chop vegetables, mix dough, create frozen smoothies and even extract juice from fruits and vegetables with ease. There’s even single-serve technology if you don’t want to blend 40 ounces of liquid.

When making my own personal smoothie, I did notice that the blade fell out when I removed the lid to pour the drink into the cup. This is a concern, but something that I’ve experienced with virtually every blender on the market. I recommend being very cautious of blades when pouring, and using the appropriate Nutri cup if you go to make the single serve smoothie.
If you live in a smaller home or you don’t have a lot of counter space, I highly recommend this model.
The BL201 can replace many of your appliances in the kitchen, and it does an acceptable job as a replacement. It’s not as powerful as separate appliances, but it is an all-in-one solution that is a must for apartments or smaller kitchens.
