KitchenAid appliances are a staple in households around the world. When it comes to small appliances, KitchenAid is known to be reliable, affordable and offers feature-rich appliances for the everyday chef.
The KitchenAid KSB1570SL is a testament to the company’s commitment to consumers. This five-speed blender comes with a beautiful silver design, and offers die cast metal blades with a variety of settings to ensure that your ingredients are blended perfectly every time.
We’re going to share our in-depth KitchenAid KSB1570SL review, but wanted to cut to the chase and discuss the pros and cons of this unit first.
- One-piece pitcher allows for easy cleanup
- Can crush ice effectively
- Motor adjusts to the thickness of the ingredients
- 56-ounce jar for family-size blending
- Base leaks, according to some users
When I first tried this unit, I was elated by how well it blended. But some users stated that the base leaks after extended use. I tried this unit for a few weeks with great success, but many users that blended several times a day stated that after a year or so, the base of the unit begins to leak.
This seems to be a recurring problem with most low-end blenders.
This isn’t a commercial grade unit, so don’t expect to be able to use it three or four times a day, every day of the week without issues occurring. It’s meant to be a standard blender that can be used daily, but not put through extensive use that is needed in a commercial setting.
KitchenAid KSB1570SL Review
When I first opened up the box, I noted just how aesthetically pleasing the silver exterior of the blender was. I quickly found out that the unit had five options choose from, and also includes eight holes and an ice crush setting, which is perfect for making smoothies.
There is a soft start feature, which will pull the food into the blades and start adjusting the speed automatically. This is where the Intelli-Speed motor really shows its strengths.
Through the soft start feature, the unit is able to sense the thickness of the ingredients. The blender will then start to adapt the speed setting to the appropriate power to cut through the ingredients without causing any nutrient degradation in the process. The unit will adjust to your food so that less heat is produced, and your ingredients are blended to a perfect consistency.
Robust blending and a 56-ounce pitcher are provided.
The pitcher is made of plastic, but it’s BPA-free. The blades on this unit are stainless steel, and you can also adjust the speed settings with the one of the five speed controls.

This is a powerful, low-end blender. You’re not spending a fortune on this model, but you’re being given a model that is both powerful and efficient. Not only can this unit crush ice with ease, it can also automatically adjust to your food’s thickness and density.
It’s the perfect blender for larger homes, offering 56 ounce holding capacity.
This blender will last for years as long as you take care of it. KitchenAid is a company that stands by their products, and this model is one of the best we have tried in this price range. It also comes with the convenience of being very easy to clean – a major bonus for busy individuals.
